If there’s one thing the queer community has proven time and time again- it’s our resilience and that Queer Joy is
sustainable at every level.

The Queer Joy Company firmly believes that every ecosystem deserves to thrive free from human-induced
pollution. To that end, we strive to minimize our contribution to the waste stream and commit to being as sustainable as
possible. Here’s how:

Our Sustainable Greeting Cards are:

  • Printed on 100lb uncoated heavy stock that is 100% recycled Post Consumer Waste New Leaf Paper and FSC-certified fiber
  • Chlorine-free, acid-free and archival quality suitable for long-term use under proper storage conditions
  • Manufactured using renewable biogas energy and are both curbside recyclable and compostable
  • Printed using vegetable and soy-based inks that produce less Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s) than traditional and more commonly used petroleum-based inks. Vegetable and soy-based inks produce gorgeous, long-lasting colors and are safer for the planet.

Our Sustainable Prints are:

  • Printed on sturdy 80# Silk Cover giving the print a smooth finish and subtle sheen
  • Chlorine-free, acid-free and archival quality suitable for long-term use under proper storage conditions
  • Manufactured using renewable biogas energy and are both curbside recyclable and compostable
  • Printed using vegetable and soy-based inks that produce less Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s) than traditional and more commonly used petroleum-based inks. Vegetable and soy-based inks produce gorgeous, long-lasting colors and are safer for the planet.
  • Soy-based inks perform well under normal indoor conditions with proper display. Hanging prints in a dry area, limiting direct UV exposure and framing behind UV-protective glass can provide additional protection for your prints.

    Packaging and Suppliers:

    • Items will ship in packaging that is either curbside recyclable and/or fully biodegradable
    • We prioritize packaging that contains partially if not fully reused content
    • We only purchase from suppliers with transparent eco-friendly goals and we focus on supporting green businesses, B-Corps, women and minority-owned companies

    End of Life Disposal Options for Packaging

    We always recommend giving a second life to items by reusing them whenever possible
